School Seminar in HKUGA College

On 9 November 2023, our Program Director, Bryan Luk, delivered a seminar held at HKUGA College focusing on the Introduction of China Diplomacy with a particular emphasis on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The seminar aimed to provide selected students with foundational knowledge about the basic concepts of Chinese diplomacy and the implications of the BRI in international relations.

The seminar began with an overview of China's diplomatic strategies, highlighting the significance of the BRI as a cornerstone of China's foreign policy. Bryan Luk explained how the BRI seeks to enhance global connectivity and foster economic cooperation among participating countries.

Participants learned about the BRI's objectives, which include policy coordination, facilities connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration, and fostering people-to-people bonds. Bryan provided insights into how the initiative aims to develop infrastructure and promote economic growth across Asia, Europe, and beyond.

The discussion extended to how the BRI impacts international relations and China's role in global governance. Students were encouraged to think critically about the geopolitical implications of China's investments in infrastructure and development projects worldwide.
