APAC Focus is honored to support “How Can We Make the World a Better Place? — Social Innovation for Sustainable Development” (presentation and discussion) was held at Hosei University on 7 March 2026 at Tokyo Japan.

The session explored why many well-intentioned social initiatives struggle to deliver lasting impact — and how social innovation can help rethink the way change is designed, measured, and sustained. One idea that resonated strongly during the session was the shift from output to outcome: focusing not simply on how many resources are spent or activities delivered, but on whether people’s lives are actually improved.

Sincere thanks to our speaker Shuan Sadreghazi, our discussants Chuanfei Wang, Tarek Katramiz, Nuntinee Malanon, our moderator Stephen Ng, our co-host Hosei University, and supporting organisations — HKU Japanese Studies Programme, CUHK Department of Japanese Studies, HKU Business School Japan Alumni Network, HKUST Alumni Network in Japan, and Commonverse — for their partnership and support in bringing this session to life.
