School Seminar about Global History

On December 19, 2023, Prof Michael Luk, our IGCS Director & Founder, conducted an engaging seminar at Tsuen Wan Catholic Primary School aimed at students in Primary 3 to Primary 6. The focus of the seminar was on Understanding Global History, providing young learners with insights into the interconnectedness of historical events and their global implications.

The seminar began with an introduction to the concept of global history, emphasizing its importance in understanding the world today. Prof Luk explained how historical events are interconnected and how they shape contemporary society.

Students explored significant historical events from various regions and cultures, discussing their impact on global development. This included discussions on trade routes, cultural exchanges, and the spread of ideas that have influenced societies over time.

Prof Luk highlighted the importance of empathy in studying history, encouraging students to consider multiple perspectives and the experiences of people from diverse backgrounds. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of global issues and promotes critical thinking.
