Completed War, war never changes mini photo exhibitions & Fireside Chat

ree

APAC Focus organized and curated a fireside chat and mini photo exhibition featuring Susanna Cheung Chui Yung, Hong Kong’s first female war journalist, on 13 December 2025. The event was themed “War, war never changes,” with Mr Bryan Luk, Program Director, and Ms Miranda Chu, Co-Program Director (Arts & Design).

Susanna shared about her first-hand experience in witnessing the evolution of war in the past 2 decades, witnessing the increasing invovlement of private army and AI implication that causing war more bloody and destructive.

Her photographic also works powerfully portray the complex realities of life in the Middle East’s conflict zones — from hate to love, death to survival, and fear to hope. Her steadfast dedication to frontline reporting and her tireless commitment to peace education and dialogue in Hong Kong over the past two decades continue to inspire us deeply.

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to our co-curator Miranda Chu, panel speaker Marco Kwong from the UNESCO HKA Glocal Peace Centre, and our dedicated helpers Jessica Fung, Kevin Leung, along with our friends from HKU Graduates Association, HKSESSA, and the wider community for their incredible support.

We are grateful to be part of a creative and compassionate network that continues to bridge arts, journalism, and peacebuilding across Asia.
