Aaron Wong

Co-Program Director (Legal & Academic)

Aaron H. L. Wong focuses his research on criminal law and criminal justice. He earned an MPhil in Criminology from the University of Cambridge, an LLM in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh, and an LLB with First Class Honours from the City University of Hong Kong.


With a strong track record in researching criminal justice and criminal law over recent years, his articles and case reviews have been published in leading law journals such as Asian Journal of Comparative Law, Statute Law Review, The Journal of Criminal Law, The Lancet Regional Health – Western Pacific, The Howard Journal of Crime and Justice, The Cambridge Law Journal, Oxford University Commonwealth Law Journal, The Lancet Psychiatry, and others.


In addition to his research, Aaron has been appointed by the HKSAR Government as a Member of the Joint Committee on Student Finance and a Member of the Panel of Film Censorship Advisers. He also served as a Council Member and Law School Board Member at CityU.

Established in 2012 by Prof. Luk Yan Lung Michael, the Institute for Greater China Studies (IGCS) has been quietly contributing to the field of scholarly research for approximately 12 years. The IGCS is dedicated to studying a wide range of political, social, economic, cultural, and public policy issues, with a special emphasis on the Greater China region, an important and continually evolving area of study in the contemporary world.
