Dr Wilson Yeung, PhD

Dr Wilson Yeung is the Founder and Artistic Director of Curatorial Ensemble, a Melbourne-based non-profit organisation dedicated to innovative curatorial and artistic practices.


He is actively engaged in cross-cultural and community-focused curatorial work, with extensive experience in socially engaged and collaborative art initiatives.


Previously, he served as Co-CEO of the Centre for Community Cultural Development and as Associate Registrar at Hong Kong Art School. Dr Yeung is a collaborator with Independent Curators International (ICI), New York, and an alumnus of the Shanghai Curator Lab at Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. In 2021, he was awarded the Future Founders Venture Scholarship by State Library Victoria’s StartSpace.


His research focuses on collective curatorial strategies, socially engaged art practices, and the role of curators as cultural collaborators facilitating cross-cultural dialogue. Dr Yeung has curated projects for the Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture, Jogja Biennale, Ballarat International Foto Biennale, Melbourne Fringe Festival, and Footscray Community Arts, among others. His writings have been published in OnCurating (Switzerland), Journal of Public Space (Italy), Architectural Journal (China), and in numerous international conferences and journals.

Established in 2012 by Prof. Luk Yan Lung Michael, the Institute for Greater China Studies (IGCS) has been quietly contributing to the field of scholarly research for approximately 12 years. The IGCS is dedicated to studying a wide range of political, social, economic, cultural, and public policy issues, with a special emphasis on the Greater China region, an important and continually evolving area of study in the contemporary world.
