(Hong Kong Reading +) Towards the Second Decade: A Ten-Year Review of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

Excited to share an upcoming book talk on Towards the Second Decade: A Ten-Year Review of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. This conversation will look back on the first decade of the Belt and Road Initiative and examine how it has evolved from a major connectivity strategy into a force reshaping global infrastructure, trade, and international cooperation.

We are pleased to have our Programme Director, Bryan L., join with Dr. Lee Hoey Simon, MH JP, and Mr. Cheung Chun Pong Derek to discuss key themes from their co-authored book published in 2025, including the evolution of the BRI since 2013, the future of BRI 2.0, and Hong Kong’s role as a super connector and value adder.

The event will also feature Interwoven Light and Shadow: An Immersive Silk Road Experience, organised by HAN+ Cultural Experience Center in Causeway Bay, which offers a contemporary and creative interpretation of the Silk Road through digital projections and interactive installation art.

Looking forward to exchanging ideas with fellow researchers, practitioners, and friends interested in regional development, connectivity, and Hong Kong’s place in the next phase of the Belt and Road story.
