Prof. Michael Y. L. Luk, Director of the Institute for Greater China Studies (IGCS), was recently featured on the HuaSheng Channel, also known as "The Channel of Chinese Voices," a platform that publishes selected articles with synopses and translations.
In his appearance, Prof. Luk discussed several key topics related to Hong Kong and its relationship with mainland China. Prof. Luk brought his extensive expertise in modern Chinese history, contemporary China studies, and global policy to the conversation.
Prof. Luk highlighted how the city, under the "one country, two systems" framework, leverages its distinct advantages, including its international standing and common law system, to attract foreign investment into China, facilitate the global expansion of Chinese enterprises, and contribute to the development of China's external legal framework.

He believes that Hong Kong's future vision is centered on multifaceted development, aiming to solidify its position as a dynamic global hub while fostering sustainable growth and improving quality of life. Strengthening global and domestic ties is crucial, with efforts to attract international businesses and talent. Policies are being designed to enhance Hong Kong's role as an international financial, trade, and green finance center. Another key pillar is the transformation into an international Innovation and Technology (I&T) center, with substantial investment in strategic industries such as life and health technology and artificial intelligence.
