Guest Sharing for Central Saint Martin's (HK) Students in HKU SPACE

Bryan Luk (Program Director and Research Lead) and Prof. Lee Sooyun (Advisor) recently delivered a guest lecture to students from Central Saint Martins and HKU SPACE at the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education on 16 July 2025. Sincere appreciation goes to Dr. Olive Cheung, Programme Leader of the MA Arts and Cultural Enterprise, Central Saint Martins (HK) Cohort, for her thoughtful arrangement and invitation.

The lecture, titled “The Anticipated Role of the Private Sector in Sustainable & Intergenerational Development in the UN Vision for 2030 and Beyond,” addressed the evolving influence of the private sector, particularly within the creative and cultural industries, on global sustainable and intergenerational development as envisioned by the UN.

Participants explored critical topics including:

  1. The expanding responsibilities of creative and cultural industries within the UN’s framework for sustainable development.

  2. Shifts in ESG and sustainability thinking that highlight private sector investment, especially in arts, culture, and creativity.

  3. Emerging challenges post-2030, with a focus on disruptive technologies, geopolitical change, and climate realities.

The session provided valuable insights into how the private sector’s engagement can become transformative, fostering resilience and progress in times of uncertainty. Special thanks again to all facilitators and partners who made this impactful learning experience possible.
